Who is Dr. Feliciano B. Calora?

About the Award


The excellence in the non-academic aspect of Entomology is personified in the life of Dr. Feliciano B. Calora who is among the seven (7) incorporators of PAE in 1968 when the association was officially registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission. Dr. Calora was one of the early Filipino pensionados during the post-war era who studied abroad to further his knowledge in the science of Entomology. After successfully completing his studies abroad, he returned to the Department of Entomology to teach and serve the country. After several years in the department, he pioneered in the applied aspect of Entomology and Crop Protection, particularly in the area of research and development of pesticides of an Agrochemical Company against tropical insect pests, diseases and weeds; hence, Research Management. Other notable non-academic endeavors worthy to carry this award are those engaged in Extension and Community Development, such as in the Department of Agriculture.

Criteria

  • Life and Full Member in good standing with annual dues paid who have served PAE for at least three (3) years
  • Active participation in PAE events (PMCP Conventions, Fellowships, etc), social and outreach programs, or serving in the Executive Board and/or PAE Committees
  • Made significant contributions in their professions for the benefit of society, community, or country
  • Should be practicing Entomologists in the non-academia setting, including but not limited to Crop Protection and Pesticide Industries, Industrial Entomology, Research Management, Public Service, and Administration

Note: Previous recipients of awards can be nominated after ten (10) years based on new accomplishments

Who can nominate

Any two (2) with Life or Full Member status in good standing and active in PAE Activities
